Abhinav Talwar is a third year student at Northwestern University and is enrolled in the Honors Program for Medical Education (HPME). In addition to pursuing a B.A. in Neuroscience, Abhinav also enjoys exploring entrepreneurial endeavors relating to health at Northwestern. Abhinav is part of the garage startup residency program at Northwestern where he develops his startup, Track Trainer, with his peers (Track Trainer is a stroke rehabilitation device that makes recovery affordable and engaging). He is also the co-founder of Global Project Hope, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission of making health education simple, effective and universal. In his sophomore year, Abhinav was the only undergraduate student selected to give a TedX talk at Northwestern on Global Project Hope. Abhinav aspires to continue his entrepreneurial activities as a physician in the future. Indeed, Abhinav has a passionate for education – both in pursuing it and in helping to develop it. To that end, for the past 4 years he has tutored students in standardized tests and college applications.
In his senior year of high school, Abhinav was accepted to several BS/MD and four year programs but ultimately decided to attend Northwestern University because of the cohesive and supportive BS/MD community at the school. It is Abhinav’s personal belief that everyone who aspires to become a doctor should seriously consider applying to BS/MD programs. Moreover, he firmly believes that every individual, given the proper guidance, has the capacity to gain acceptance to such a program.
