I TURNED A 5% ACCEPTANCE RATE PROCESS INTO A 90% ACCEPTANCE SCIENCE

HI, THANKS FOR READING. I’m Shad Chowdhury, Founder & CEO of PremedHQ. With half a decade of experience, BS/MD admissions coaching is my area of expertise.

I turned the process of BS/MD admissions into a science and successfully coached numerous students into BS/MD programs along the way. I pride myself for having coached students in my B.S./M.D. mastermind group to an astounding acceptance rate of over 90% in the last application cycle.

And these are only the BS/MD acceptances. My students get into undergraduate institutions such as Harvard, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, MIT, just to name a few.

  • Many applicants hold the misconception that a high GPA, SAT, and extracurriculars are enough to get accepted. With the national acceptance rate at just 5% for BS/MD programs, even applicants with near-perfect credentials are rejected each year. That means 95% of BS/MD applicants have to repeat the entire grueling premed process for another 4 stressful years.

  • The key is how a successful applicant tactfully approaches each and every step of the admissions process and how strategically they apply. To get accepted, you must:

1.) Perfect Your Application: We achieve this by pairing you with an admissions coaching professional who will provide 1-on-1 guidance to craft your application, admissions essays, and interviewing skills to perfection.

2.) Think Outside the Application: Our focus goes beyond just the application & essays. We guide you towards selecting schools that match you, and this goes beyond just selecting schools based on stats & scores. When you select the right programs, they select you back.

We offer a variety of coaching solutions to meet the needs of a diverse applicant pool:

Shad Chowdhury
Founder of PremedHQ
Shad Chowdhury
With five-years of B.S./M.D. coaching experience, Shad has turned the art of B.S./M.D. admissions into a science.

In high school, Shad successfully went through the B.S./M.D. admissions process with Drew/Rutgers BS/MD program. With only a 3.67 High School GPA, he had to develop strategies that went beyond the traditional application to even be considered. He has perfected those strategies over the years, and added many more high effective admissions strategies to his repertoire.

Ben Ostrander
Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
Ben Ostrander
Benjamin Ostrander is a passionate and driven medical student at a top-tier medical school. He brings a wealth of experiences, including a very successful medical school application cycle, a bioengineering degree, inside admissions knowledge, and experiences living and working in countries around the globe, into every advising session. Ben has served in multiple roles, as the president of the largest pre-med organization at his undergraduate university, as a student health peer advisor, a peer mentor, and a tutor, all of which have helped him become an outstanding mentor. He is extremely excited about teaching and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Sameen also conducts the interview coaching sessions, especially for the MMI mock-interviews given his experience with successfully interview at the UMKC BS/MD program.

J.C.
Boston University BS/MD
J.C. is currently attending the prestigious Boston University BS/MD program. A few years ago, she was actually an applicant that received coaching from Premed HQ! Now she’s the coach! She has interviewed and has been accepted at other highly competitive undergraduate institutions as well as BS/MD programs.

Much of her success was due to writing stellar admissions essays and being able to plan the months leading up the application cycle.

K.E.
UCSD BS/MD Program
In order to craft an essay that truly leaves an impact on the admissions committee, you need to spend time ample planning the best possible response to the essay prompt.

That’s her specialty. Prior to joining Premed HQ, she coached a large premed population with essay conceptualization in the UCSD Writing Center program. She guides you from the very first ideas of the essay prompt, to outlining the essay so you have a clear direction for writing up your first draft.

There are some college coaching services out there that are a “one man show”. Basically they have just one “guru” coach. I know the value of having a team of coaches, each with their own specialty, and all of them working together to help you succeed. You’ll find that some of those other college coaching services run by just one “full-time” coach might have some decent essay revisions, but horrible interview coaching. It really takes a team of specialists.

Another common trap is trusting so-called “gurus” that have never been through the BS/MD & med school process first-hand and only receive their admissions coaching experience from second-hand readings. Unless they’ve accomplished it, they shouldn’t be teaching it.

Every member of my expert team will be working with you. Each one will be working with you in their specialized niche. We’ve all successfully gone through the BS/MD or med school process, so my team knows firsthand what it takes to get accepted. And that’s exactly what we’ll help you do: get accepted.

We have extensive knowledge on each and every BS/MD program in the nation.

In addition to my team of coaches, I also hire two seasonal employees to manage our highly comprehensive BS/MD knowledge database. Every cycle, we call up admissions offices, keep in touch with students currently attending each BS/MD program, and even talk to deans of admissions. I put this knowledge into my BS/MD programs database.

This is a process that literally involves hundreds of hours of research.

So, how useful is the information in my database? How much insight does it give into each BS/MD program? I invite you to experience the comprehensiveness of my database. Here’s a small sample from my database: my entry for the Virginia Commonwealth University BS/MD program:

Take A Sneak-Peek Into My BS/MD Programs Database, Click Here!

This allows us a glimpse into what each BS/MD program values and looks for in their applicants. This allows us the knowledge that is typically reserved for someone already admitted to the program. That’s the level of insight and strategic advantage you’ll receive when attacking each program with my admission team’s guidance. This knowledge allows us to help you select the schools that would be the best fit for you and schools that you’d have the best chances of being admitted to.

In order to be considered for a BS/MD program, you must be exceptional. The reason our clients have such high acceptance rates is because we start in the 11th grade, which allows us to really sculpt our clients to be the ideal BS/MD candidates.

Having excellent scores and essays isn’t enough. The students in my mastermind group get accepted because they all champion a “Big Idea”:

What is a “Big Idea”? BS/MD programs want to see applicants that think big. They don’t want applicants that just get good grades and join extracurricular activities. They want students that start their own organizations and champion causes that they’re passionate about. They want real leaders: becoming the president of a club that already exists is good, but creating an organization that doesn’t exist yet is much more powerful. This is the part where you prove to the medical schools that you are passionate about a cause with medical relevancy, and you are doing something about it. You’re rallying people around your cause and making a difference.

Unfortunately, most students fail to have this crucial element. It comes as no surprise, because the thought of championing your own cause from scratch is very daunting – especially at such a young age and without the adequate life experience. That’s where I come in. I make sure each and every one of my clients have this absolutely crucial element. Here’s an example of what just one of my mastermind students championed as her big idea:

Medical Goody Bags for the Homeless
My client S.V. (initials) is passionate about providing relief to the homeless population. She believes they are the most medically under-served population in our country. The idea S.V. and I came up with was to create goody bags containing basic medical supplies, a standard first-aid kit, and some non-perishable foods. She then gathered high school students and a doctor from her community. They would go out on afternoons and deliver these medical goody bags to the homeless people in her area.

The doctor accompanying her group would also give some medical advice and a quick check-up to each homeless person. Over the course of several weekends, they directly touched the lives of the most under-deserved people in society. Not only that, but the accompanying physician was able to deliver crucial disease-prevention guidance to the homeless whenever he noticed symptoms on those that S.V.’s group was serving.

Now THAT is what BS/MD programs want to see. That is initiative, that is passion for a cause, that is leadership. That is what I make sure each and every one of my clients have. And that is why we start in the 11th grade.

While in 11th grade, I not only work with the client on the Big Idea, but over the course of the year I also sculpt the ideal BS/MD candidate. This is achieved through our 1-on-1 sessions that take place every other week. After concluding each session, I even send detailed reports of everything we discussed that day:

Unlike most other BS/MD coaching programs that try to get started during the application cycle (in 12th grade), my clients have the essential admissions essays and application material completed before the application cycle even begins.

I groom my clients to become the ideal BS/MD candidates, and it’s accomplished by getting an early start.

It takes more than just good scores and essays to get accepted.

With the average acceptance rate for BS/MD programs at only 5% in a pool of highly competitive applicants (the best students from each high school), you have to really know how to play the admissions game. Over the years, that’s one game I have become really good at.

It no longer suffices to be the kid with the highest scores and good essays. My clients with lower-than-average scores have swooped in and taken the available BS/MD seats from many students in the applicant pool with higher scores.

If you really want to attend a BS/MD program, prove it to them. Networking and reaching out to your target schools is what really gets you ahead. I not only know who to reach out to, but also how to reach out to them.

You will receive template emails which you can modify and send out, guidance on who to make phone calls to and what to say to them, and also a timeline of when to do it all.

Outreach to the schools is just one of my many highly effective admissions strategies. These strategies are really what gets my clients ahead and makes them stand out before the schools even begin reviewing the applicants.

When you join the mastermind group, you become a member of the Premed HQ family.

Many clients have described me to be like an older brother because of the amount of encouragement, understanding, and attention I provide. I view the parents as both professional equals, but also as my respected uncles and aunties. Of course, professionalism is upheld to the highest standard, but you’ll also receive the respect and treatment that I give to a family member.

The reciprocation and building of this bond definitely shows. I have regularly been invited to visit clients homes from across the country once the application cycle ends and join in the celebration at graduation parties. Many clients keep in touch with me years after they are accepted, and some of them even become my coaches.

If something urgent comes up and you need to chat, I’ve answered calls on evenings, weekends, and even holidays. I’ll step out of a social gathering if a member of my family needs help.

That’s the level of service you can and should expect.

So what are the results of having a coaching system with the above advantages?
1.) My clients enjoy an acceptance rate of 90%.

2.) My clients are extremely satisfied at the end of it all:

3.) My clients not only get accepted in part due to the “Big Idea”, but they also go on to champion their life-long “Big Idea” (see Advantage 3, above) that we planted the seeds for in high school. My role in sculpting my clients to become “agents of change” that impact society is the result that I’m most proud of.

Let’s Get Your Child Into Medical School

Parents have told me that the feeling of knowing their son or daughter will become a doctor before they’ve even graduated high school is a feeling like no other. The sooner we get started, the more time I have to sculpt your son or daughter into the ideal BS/MD candidate.
